How did Care2Tell.com come about?
Powered by Storyhood, Care2tell (www.care2tell.com) came about when the non-profit organization for which I volunteer (Yad Sarah - www.yadsarah.org) decided it would be a good idea to develop a website where caregivers and their recipients could share experiences. The organization has thousands of volunteers who help the disabled, the ill and the elderly. In line with the organization’s objectives of helping the community, Care2tell is designed to be a meeting place where people can relate anecdotes about the good in people, whether the people are the caregivers or patients themselves, or actually anyone who has an experience or tip to offer that they feel would be of service, interest or amusement to caregivers.
Carebuzz: I helped my mom and dad through the aging process and found little support online. For a family caregiver living at a distance from relatives and working full time, it’s very isolating. That’s why I believe so much in what you are doing.
How do you attract users? Do they simply find you via web searches?
The website can be found via web searches. It is also accessible from the Yad Sarah website (www.yadsarah.org). A few bloggers and website owners in the field of caring for the disabled, the elderly and the ill have agreed to publicize or place a link to Care2tell on their websites, as well. We are interested in giving the website as much publicity as possible and welcome any other websites that would like to place a link to Care2tell on their sites (www.care2tell.com).
Are you also drawing on the senior market or just their families and caregivers?
We would be delighted to have people in the senior market take part in the website. The more stories the better! Also, the website gives users the options of voting and commenting on stories, as well as forwarding stories to their friends. It is extremely user-friendly.
What do you hope to accomplish with Care2Tell?
People love to share their experiences. At Care2tell, sharing experiences also helps others in similar circumstances. The stories are inspiring, humorous, touching and amazing. It is a heartwarming site that reminds people about the goodness in the world. We hope to expand the site with as many experiences and users as possible so it can be a meeting place for people who care and want to share and let others know about the warm world of caring.
How can we be of assistance and help you accomplish that?
Publicizing Care2tell and recruiting people to share their experiences would certainly help expand the site. Placing a link to the site on your websites would also be of great assistance. Basically we need help in spreading the word around that Care2tell is here and is a delightful place to visit and participate.
